Reiwa 6 (2024) Exhibition of Works by Mr. Takaya Fujii

We will hold an exhibition of works by Mr. Takaya Fujii, who has been active mainly in Germany and Europe.
At the same time, the fifty-six-panel Reiwa fusuma paintings painted by Mr. Fujii and newly installed in autumn 2020 will also be shown.
The works, themed on withered fallen leaves of European oak, can be seen as an expression symbolizing, so to speak, “emptiness,” and resonate with the philosophy of Zen.
Please take this opportunity, in which contemporary art harmonizes with the Karesansui (dry landscape) garden set against the backdrop of Arashiyama, to visit us.

From Saturday, October 26 to Tuesday, November 5, the exhibition will be held together with the “Autumn Special Opening of Kyoto’s Cultural Properties Not Usually Open to the Public”, so the reception hours and admission fee will be the same as those of the special opening.
