Statue of Lord Ashikaga Yoshimitsu at Rokuouin Featured on NHK WORLD-JAPAN’s SAMURAI WISDOM

Ashikaga Yoshimitsu was featured on SAMURAI WISDOM, an NHK WORLD-JAPAN program that conveys Japanese history to the world. Rokuouin is a Zen temple built in the Muromachi period by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu to pray for his long life.
In the program, the statue of Lord Ashikaga Yoshimitsu enshrined in the Shōdō Hall of Rokuouin was introduced.
Mr. Takahiro Shige of the Kyoto Association for the Preservation of Ancient Culture, who regularly advises us on the management and protection of cultural properties and has been of great help in the ongoing special opening of cultural properties not usually open to the public, also explained about Lord Yoshimitsu.

Although it is an international broadcast, it is also available for streaming on the web, so please be sure to watch.
