For this summer vacation only, Rokuouin will hold a “Parent-and-Child Temple Lodging Experience.”
In our busy daily lives, opportunities for parents and children to slowly face each other and spend time together are surprisingly few.
In Rokuouin’s Parent-and-Child Temple Lodging Experience, we have prepared a special 24 hours for parents and children to spend together in the quiet space of a temple, away from TV and games for a while.
An evening walk through the temple grounds, time at a nearby public bath, conversation at night, and a sutra copying and Buddha tracing experience the next morning.
Rather than doing anything special, we value parents and children sharing the same time in an environment a little different from usual.
Memories of the summer vacations we spent as children come back to mind even after we grow up.
This summer, why not spend precious time together as parent and child at a quiet temple in Arashiyama, Kyoto?
