Statue of Founding Master Fumyō Kokushi

A polychrome clay statue is enshrined. Below the statue is a stone tower in the style of the early Muromachi period, which reaches up to the statue—a unique feature. Fumyō Kokushi was granted the honorific title of "National Teacher" by Emperor En'yū in December 1379. This title is the highest honor bestowed by the emperor to a monk in the Zen community.
